Sylvia Vasquez was released from county jail last week after serving three months of a one-year sentence for child abuse and endangerment. Vasquez was sentenced after Judge Frank Ochoa heard how she kept her adopted children in locked cages equipped with defecation buckets. Including the 136 days served before the trial, Vasquez served a total of 237 days. She got 120 days off for good behavior and work time, plus another eight days for jail overcrowding and early release.
