Freeway-Widening Project May Affect Business

Milpas Street businessman Rick Feldman warned members of the City Council that the four-year construction period for widening Highway 101 between Milpas Street and Hot Springs Road would affect Eastside business owners and residents. While Feldman calls for speedier construction, Caltrans claims it can schedule only one work crew per day due to the noise of pile-driving, and that blocking off more lanes of Highway 101 would create too much traffic.
