A fire at a Hope Ranch home on 11/10 killed an elderly woman, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. The department arrived to find a “well-involved structure fire at the location,” Capt. Eli Iskow said. Additional engine companies were called, and the house was searched. The woman was found unresponsive and without a pulse inside. Resuscitation efforts failed, and she was declared dead at the scene.
