Sheriff’s spokesperson Alex Tipolt announced today that investigators had arrested a woman they believe to be responsible for a rash of automobile burglaries in Goleta throughout November and December 2007. Investigators found that Jennifer Coltrin had been using some of the burglary victims’ identities and credit cards in transactions throughout Santa Barbara County. On December 18, deputies arrested Coltrin at a mobile home on the 4100 block of State Street, where they also reportedly found checks, wallets, purses, identification cards and bank documents belonging to victims of “window smash” robberies throughout both Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Coltrin was arrested on charges of possession stolen property and is being held at Santa Barbara County Jail.

Tipolt encouraged anyone with additional information into these crimes to contact Sheriff’s detectives at (805) 681-4150.
