So You Think You Can Dance?
The Vanessa Isaac Samba Group is looking for dancers and drummers for this year’s Solstice Parade. Isaac, along with renowned percussionist Chalo Eduardo, will be holding rehearsal workshops starting Wednesday, May 7 (for dancers), and Sunday, May 18 (for drummers). Capitol Steps
Representative Lois Capps is inviting artwork from S.B. high schoolers to submit for this year’s Congressional Art Competition. The winning piece will hang in Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Building. On Friday, April 25, TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) will hold a benefit concert for Santa Barbara youths and families living with autism. The show, taking place at the Santa Barbara Fair & Expo, will feature performances by Lanny Sherwin, Penfifteen Club, and Kodi Lee. The show starts at 5:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at sbfairandexpo.com or the Earl Warren Showgrounds (3400 Calle Real).
