Singer Halts Tour Due to Acute Laryngitis
It was announced Sunday that pop punk’s reigning princess, Avril Lavigne, will be forced to postpone at least six dates on her current The Best Damn Tour schedule due to a bout of acute laryngitis. The list of canceled tour stops, which includes a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl with rock outfit Boys Like Girls that would have taken place this Tuesday, May 6, includes performances throughout California and Washington. The singer released a statement yesterday evening explaining the situation. “My sincerest apologies to all of my fans,” she wrote. “My intention was to complete the rest of the tour, but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realized this wasn’t possible. Even though I have been resting my voice for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out.”
No word on whether Nederlander will be rescheduling the show. Would-be attendees are currently being directed to their point of purchase for a full refund on their tickets.
