Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho! A Pirate’s Life for Me!
The 18th annual Ojai Renaissance & Pirate Faire is swaggerin’ and swash-bucklin’ its way back to the shores of Lake Casitas, re-creating an authentic pirate village as you might have seen in the 16th century. Grab yer young’uns and check out the battle reenactments, pirate-life demos, and outdoor market with all the booty you can handle-period clothing, armament, fine jewelry, original art, and pottery. Gnaw on barbecued turkey legs, English bangers, sausages, and desserts, and sample ales at the tavern while the kiddies watch the three stages of entertainment and keep an eye out for that wily Jack Sparrow. The event is happening Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on both days. Tickets ($15 for adults, $7 for children younger than 12, kids four and younger are free) include all entertainment; parking is $5 per vehicle.
