• Sister Christine Bowman, director of human resources and grant writer for St. Vincent’s, will be signing copies of her new book, St. Anne’s Century of Service: A Legacy of Love, which tells the inspirational stories of unmarried pregnant women who have been helped by this organization, at Feed My Sheep bookstore, located at 4141 State St. on Wednesday, May 21, from 6-8 p.m.

•The Rhythmic Arts Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through the power of music, is holding a car wash to help fund its annual music benefit this Saturday, May 17, at Risdon’s 76, located at 4401 Via Real in Carpinteria.
