Lowe and Gibson Continue Fight

Judge Throws Out Two Allegations Against Actor

A Santa Barbara Superior Court judge threw out two causes of action related to labor law issues in a lawsuit filed against actor Rob Lowe by his former nanny Thursday. That leaves ten causes of action for the former nanny, Jessica Gibson, who claims in the suit she was sexually harassed by Lowe, but kept quiet about it and continued working.

Lowe, 44, who is currently starring in ABC TV series Brothers and Sisters, and his wife pre-empted Gibson by filing a lawsuit after Gibson allegedly demanded $1.5 million for her silence. After their suit, Gibson, 24, filed her own. Superior Court Judge Denise de Bellefeuille will hear arguments related to Gibson’s failure to complain to her employer’s harassment on June 30. Neither Lowe nor Gibson were in court Thursday.

The next hearing in Gibson’s suit will be July 10.
