Mandatory Evacuation Lifted in More Neighborhoods
Painted Cave Residents May Return Home
The list of areas where mandatory evacuation orders due to the Gap Fire have been downgraded to evacuation warnings is growing.
The Forest Service and the County of Santa Barbara have announced that Painted Cave residents are being allowed to return to their homes this evening. So are those whose homes are in the Rancho Embarcadero area neighborhoods of Vereda del Ciervo and Vereda Leyenda, or along Vereda del Padre.
Some neighborhoods between Fairview Road and Poinsettia Way have also been re-opened. The exceptions are the following streets, which remain in mandatory evacuation status:
- Spur Valley Road
- Camino Galena
- Camino Andaluz
- Camino Palomera
- Camino Cerralvo
- Camino Rio Verde
- Camino Meleno
- Camino Altozano
The mandatory evacuation order also remains in effect for the following areas:
- Farren Road, north of Vereda Del Padre
- West Camino Cielo
- Windermere Track
- Haney Track
- Kinevan Road
- Trout Club
- Hidden Valley (near Highway 154)
