Warrior Spirit Never Dies announced that it fell short by 89 signatures in its attempt to instigate a recall election against Carpinteria School Board member Beverly Grant. The county elections office disqualified 145 signatures because they were not by registered voters. WSND is now focusing its attention on the November election, when it hopes to remove the three others who voted to get rid of Carpinteria High’s Indian warrior icons. Grant’s term is not up until 2010.
