Santa Barbara-based progressive talk radio station KIST (1340 AM) will be sold for $1.44 million by its current owners, R&R Radio, LLC, to California Lutheran University, according to news reports this week. Its programming will change to be more like the university’s existing station, KCLU: noncommercial, with National Public Radio content. In the last two years, KIST has been owned by Clear Channel and then Santa Barbara’s Rincon Broadcasting.
