This week, The Santa Barbara Independent introduced a new emergency alert service in partnership with UCSB radio station KCSB (91.9 FM). Using both media’s reporters and KCSB’s 24-hour operation, the free service will provide information on the radio and through email and text messages about situations such as natural disasters, wildfires, and emergency road conditions.
