NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
For you Halloween freaks and art appreciators out there, this year’s Noche de los Muertos exhibit at Muddy Waters Cafe (508 E. Haley St.) kicks off Saturday, October 18, with a reception featuring music from DJ Magneto. The annual show, curated by Sheryl Schroeder, will feature themed works from artists in L.A., Portland, San Francisco, and S.B.
AND THE BEAT GOES ON
The Santa Barbara-based Dancing Drum company recently received a impressive grant from the Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund. The award will be used to help bring arts programs, including a Dancing Drum artist-in-residency workshop, back to schools in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward affected by Hurricane Katrina. For information on how you can contribute, call 682-8250 or visit dancingdrum.com.
