IT TAKES TWO: While most Indy staffers spent last week focusing oh-so-intently on the approaching election, contributor Brett Leigh Dicks attended to more serious matterslike getting married. On Wednesday, October 29, the longtime arts writer took to the courthouse with his fiancee, songstress Natalie D-Napoleon, for an intimate ceremony among friends. The pair, who met in their native Australia in 2000, first bonded over their mutual love of music. “Brett and I [shared] a year of phone calls before I visited last year,” recalled D-Napoleon. “And most of them involved talking about music.” Since her first visit out to S.B. in May ’07, the two have been inseparableand kept plenty busy writing, traveling, and gigging around town. So how do two workhorses celebrate tying the knot? “A week in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With the smell of mesquite, open fires, and lots of good Southwestern food. Without Brett’s laptop and Natalie’s guitar,” they agreed. Congrats, guys!
