While the notion of journal-writing may conjure images of tweens scribbling fiercely about their woes in a Hannah Montana diary, the blank books also are great for recording observations about the physical world. To that end, the Wildling Art Museum will offer a four-session nature journaling class. Participants will learn how to document their responses to and reflections about nature, creating something akin to a “field” journal. The class is taught by four experienced nature journal-keepers-Melinda Weymouth, Teresa McNeil MacLean, Sharron Luft, and Susan Brooks-and takes place on Sundays (Aug. 2, 9, 16, and 23) from 4-5 p.m. at the Corner House Coffee (2902 San Marcos Ave., Los Olivos). It costs $22 and includes the necessary materials (journal, pen, and watercolor pencils). Registration is required. For more information, call 688-1082 or visit wildlingmuseum.org.
