Last week, following the release of their second EP, Space Camp, S.B. rockers Loomis & the Lust watched their latest music video climb to the number one most viewed YouTube page in 12 countries. The clip, for lead single “ADD” rose to popularity just one day after Space Camp dropped, promising big things for this up-and-coming four-piece.

This Sunday, August 22, marks the first of two free lectures at the Santa Barbara Musuem of Art being held in conjunction with the ongoing Chaotic Harmony exhibit. The talk, titled Soap Operas and Contemporary Korean Culture and led by UCSB Associate Professor Suk-Young Kim, begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Mary Craig Auditorium. Visit sbma.net for info.

This Saturday, August 21, Art From Scrap (302 E. Cota St.) unveils its newest exhibit, Neighborhood Portraits. The show features works from artists of all ages, all made with materials from AFS’s Reuse Store. The opening reception runs 5-7 p.m., and the exhibit hangs through September 25.
