A woman was badly hurt yesterday when her car skidded off Highway 166, two miles east of Cottonwood Canyon, and caught fire when it came to rest in dry grass. By 4 p.m. County Fire personnel were able to put out what turned into a 25 acre fire with the help of helicopter water drops and US Forest Service backup. The middle-aged victim was transported to the hospital by helicopter, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation by the CHP.
