The County of Santa Barbara’s Environmental Health Services conducts water quality sampling during the summer. A WARNING beach status is issued when one or more of the bacterial health standards are exceeded.

OPEN = Sampling results indicate that water quality meets state health standards.

WARNING = Sampling results indicate bacterial levels exceed one or more state health standards at this location. Contact with ocean water may increase risk of illness. Swimmers are advised to stay out of the water a minimum of 50 yards away from both sides of creek mouths or storm drains.
