Santa Monica-based architecture firm Moore Ruble Yudell has been chosen to design the planned Santa Barbara Criminal Courthouse, a proposed eight-courtroom, 97,000-square-foot building to be built in the coming years. While a site for the project is still being chosen, the firm was selected based on its qualifications, not on the basis of price. The fee is to be negotiated after selection. None of the firms on the short list were based in Santa Barbara.
