Cole Porter Classic Arrives in SBHS on April 28

Set in 1934 aboard the ocean liner S.S. America bound from New York to London, this age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue intrigues audiences of all ages, and no musical puts it on stage better than Anything Goes. This show is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s magical scores. Terrific Cole Porter songs It’s De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes, You’re The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow, Take Me Back To Manhattan and Let’s Misbehave.. It’s a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where Anything Goes!

The cast of 40 students (and tech crew of 20) in Anything Goes features California Youth Spotlight Award Winner Geoff Hahn as Billy Crocker, Santa Barbara Teen Star 2010 Winner Allison Lewis as Reno Sweeney, Clayton Barry as Sir Evelyn Oakley, Katherine Bottoms as Hope Harcourt, Elli Harb as Mrs. Harcourt, Emilio Madrid-Kuser as Elijah Whitney, Dylan Fitzgibbons as Moonface Martin, Public Enemy Number 13, and Olivia Fanaro as Bonnie.

It is directed by Otto Layman, now in his 15th year at SBHS, with Musical Direction by Richard Weiss (with the assistance of Charles Ortega), Choreography by Christina McCarthy, and Set and Light Design by Mike Madden. Anything Goesplays April 28th, 29th, May 5th, 6th, 7th at 7pm, with Sunday Matinees May 1st and 8th (Mother’s Day) at 2pm.
