MTD Proposes Route Changes to Cut Costs

Wed Apr 20, 2011 | 03:30pm

In order to cut costs by 4.5-5 percent, Santa Barbara MTD is proposing route changes including the complete elimination of Lines 9 and 22. The first runs in a loop up and down Calle Real and Hollister between Patterson and Fairview. The second runs from the Transit Center downtown along the mountain side of State Street to Mission Canyon. The loss of stops on Line 9 would be partially compensated for by an extension of Line 7, but Line 22’s stops would not be replaced. MTD will hold a public meeting on the proposed changes at its offices at 550 Olive Street at 5:30 p.m. on 4/27.
