Woman Sprained Her Ankle on Cold Springs Trail

Fifteen personnel from the Montecito Fire Department and the Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue Team responded to a 911 call yesterday of a 50-year-old woman who sprained her ankle while hiking on the West Fork of Cold Springs Trail. The woman, from Newbury Park, slipped near the intersection to Tangerine Falls. When they reached the woman, paramedics splinted her ankle and secured her into a stretcher. She was then carried down the mountain and transported to Cottage Hospital.
