Central Coast Wine Growers’ Association Appoints Two New Boardmembers

At the recent annual meeting of the Central Coast Wine Growers Association (CCWGA), the association appointed two new boardmembers.

Kendall Jackson Vineyard Manager Bart Haycraft of Nipomo was elected to fill a position from the southern area of the association boundaries. Bart has been with Kendall Jackson about ten years and graduated from Fresno State. Prior to moving to the Central Coast he worked in Napa and Lodi with a consulting firm. Bart is married and has two children and enjoys backyard BBQ’s and good wine.

Michael Larner of Larner Vineyard was also appointed to the CCWGA Board of Directors at the annual meeting. He is winemaker and general manager of the family run boutique Larner Vineyard. Larner received his MS degree from the Department of Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis in 2005 and earned a degree in geology at the University of Colorado. Michael has traveled extensively in Europe, gaining experience and if often asked to judge at trade fairs and wine competitions. He is an active boardmember of the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association and founding architect of the newly proposed Ballard AVA (American Viticulture Area).

The CCWGA is a non-profit association representing vineyards and wineries in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. Formed in 1974; our primary purpose is to advance the wine grape growing industry of these counties through advocacy and education.

The Central Coast Wine Growers Association encourages an open dialogue between the wine grape community, local government, special interest groups and the general public to promote a positive and accurate understanding of our industry issues.
