Security Organized for Royal Visit

Wed Jul 06, 2011 | 05:00pm

The State Department is the lead security agency for the visit this weekend of newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson. The Sheriff’s Department will provide some security in a supporting role, but will be adjusting work schedules to avoid overtime. The department will be tracking hours worked, but won’t have a total cost for several weeks. Prince William will be participating in a polo match fundraiser in Summerland for a U.S. charity, and Middleton will present the trophy, before the couple heads back down to Los Angeles.
