Fri Jul 22, 2011 | 02:00pm

If foreclosure has lurked around the darkest corner in your home, it might be time for some information about preventing or even executing the dreaded threat.

Peoples’ Self-Help Housing, a nonprofit offering affordable housing and a variety of resources, will hold a seminar about the subject on Wednesday, July 27, 6-8 p.m., at Storke Ranch Apartments, located at 6822 Phelps Road in Goleta. Brian Kerrigan will lead the seminar with tips on loan modification and the foreclosure process. According to RealtyTrac, a Web site that tracks the statistics of foreclosures in different counties, Santa Barbara County was affected by over 400 foreclosed properties in June 2011, more than half located in Santa Maria.

Attendees of the upcoming seminar are encouraged to RSVP by calling (805) 781-3088 ext. 476.
