Vandenberg Air Force Base is scheduled to launch an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile sometime between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on 2/25. The base conducts approximately three such test launches each year, designed to assess the reliability and accuracy of the weapon. The missile will fly to the Kwajalein Atoll island chain in the Marshall Islands, about 4,200 miles southwest of Southern California.
