Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office to Teach the Community About Law Enforcement

Participants will get an insider look at the various departments over the course of seven weeks. Topics will include a history of the department, how a deputy sheriff is trained, forensics, SWAT, narcotics, bomb squad, dive team, and much more. The academy will also include a tour of the main jail, the Santa Barbara Courthouse, and Emergency Communications Center.

The kick-off class is April 18, 6-9 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 130 Cremona Drive, Suite B, Goleta. The course continues at various locations on Wednesday evenings through May 30, finishing with a graduation BBQ on June 2.
