[UPDATE]: Blaze Contained to Building at 2337 Golden Gate Avenue

[UPDATE, 7:56 p.m.]: Emergency crews quickly contained the fire to the single building at 2337 Golden Gate Avenue, said a spokesperson for the Montecito Fire District. He clarified that the structure appears to be a duplex, rather than a multi-unit apartment complex.

Engine units remain on the scene in mop-up mode, and there is no danger to the surrounding area, the spokesperson said.

[ORIGINAL REPORT]:Firefighters are responding to an apartment complex fire that started at 5:17 p.m. at 2337 Golden Gate Avenue in Summerland. No injuries have been reported, and the building was completely cleared of residents.

A Montecito Fire District spokesperson said engine crews from that department are on the scene, along with firefighters from Carpinteria and Ventura County.
