During the event, Access will provide information management and privacy protection information and no cost document destruction services to local businesses and consumers.

The event will open at Noon with a ribbon cutting ceremony, featuring representatives from the offices of Mayor Helene Schneider and Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce President, Steve Cushman. Access and other local organizations will offer no-cost services and entertainment, including wine tasting hosted by Santa Barbara Winery, entertainment by local musicians, Steve Ochoa and Liz Pedersen; and free Access document destruction services.

Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to bring their paper records and documents that are no longer needed to the Access Santa Barbara facility located at 820 Bond Avenue, for free, secure destruction on May 18th. Examples of the types of documents that individuals need to properly destroy before disposal include: bank statements, credit card statements, utility bills, cancelled checks, pre-approved credit card forms and any other documentation that contains personal data. The first 5 boxes of materials, per individual, will be destroyed free of charge. Documents submitted for destruction will be securely shredded by Access and all of the resulting materials will be recycled.
