De la Guerra Plaza Reoccupied

Thu May 31, 2012 | 12:00am

De la Guerra Plaza was briefly reoccupied this week. After moving indoors for the winter, Occupy Santa Barbara protesters returned to their original meeting place at 9 p.m. on Memorial Day. Seven stayed overnight without eliciting the attention of law enforcement personnel, but police asked the group to leave Tuesday night. A group of the protesters are pursuing an injunction against the city for enforcing curfew and camping restrictions at the public park. They were arrested and fined — some repeatedly — during a several-week stretch in the fall.
