An alleged con artist wanted in Santa Barbara County was booked in the Los Angeles County Jail after his arrest in Universal City last week. Jerrell Yearego is suspected of fraud and false impersonation of another and is awaiting transportation back to S.B.
On the lam for years and facing similar charges in other counties, Yearego had been staying at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in recent months but managed to elude arrest. A citizen tip then pinpointed him to the Universal City Hilton, where the caller — who accessed the Sheriff’s “Top Ten Active Warrants” website — said he frequented the bar.
