David Landecker Stepping Down from EDC

After five years at the helm of the Environmental Defense Center (EDC), David Landecker publicly announced he was stepping down. During tough economic times, Landecker managed to expand the number of staff attorneys working for EDC, the biggest and best-known environmental public interest law firm on the South Coast. Landecker, now 61, has been beset with back problems and said he’s not sure what he’ll do next. During his tenure, he said EDC became better known as a negotiator rather than just an adversary willing to take oil companies and developers to court.
