Three Santa Barbara men were arrested Thursday on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery. Walter Stanley, 32, Brian Moore, 34, and Colin Hill, 31, were detained after an investigation was conducted by the SBPD’s Narcotics Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.

The men’s intended target was reportedly a home in Goleta, the residents of which are thought to be involved in the sale of marijuana.

A press release from the police department claims Stanley, Moore, and Hill’s plan was to take marijuana and money from the residents at gunpoint. “Investigation revealed that the three intended to commit a takeover-style robbery with firearms,” said Sgt. Riley Harwood in a media statement Thursday.

Stanley was also taken into custody in July for possession for sale of marijuana, cultivation of marijuana, and being a felon in possession of ammunition. At the time of the arrest at his home on Stanley Drive, authorities confiscated over 80 marijuana plants and five pounds of processed marijuana, allegedly headed to Los Angeles dispensaries.

All three men are now in the Santa Barbara County Jail facing $50,000 in felony arrest warrants as a result of the charges brought against them.
