Special Ed Head Resigning

The Santa Barbara schools special education boss announced last week that she is resigning to take a job with the Mount Diablo Unified School District in Contra Costa County. Kerri Mills worked in Santa Barbara for three years and oversaw the implementation of a plan designed by a Sacramento consulting firm that conducted a survey of the district’s special education department in 2009 and found “systemic problems that have led to inconsistency, disorganization, confusion over policies and procedures and a lack of direction to school sites.”
