Three protestors were arrested at Vandenberg Air Force Base at around 2 a.m. Sunday during an attempt to infiltrate the base and hang banners on missile silos. It’s unclear if they succeeded during the protest that coincided 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, but protestors said Theodore Kayser from Los Angeles Catholic Worker was arrested at gunpoint along a remote North Base fence line. Taken into custody near the base’s main gate was Rebecca Casa from Los Angeles Catholic Worker and Rev. Louie Vitale, an 80-year-old Franciscan priest and veteran of Vandenberg demonstrations. Base officials didn’t return requests for comment.
