Spring Arts Preview 2013: Theater
From Bill W. and Dr. Bob to Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune
The British group known as 1927 Theater comes to Campbell Hall for one night only this spring. In The Animals and Children Took to the Streets, three live performers (including writer/director Suzanne Andrade) will interact with each other and with additional animated characters for 70 minutes of nonstop surprises. It’s the story of a society in which the gap between rich and poor has become unbearable, and the children of the ghetto known as “the Bayou” have formed a revolutionary guerilla army, the slogan of which is “better living conditions, a decent education, and an Xbox.” Don’t miss this opportunity to see one of the most internationally acclaimed contemporary theater companies. Thursday, April 25, at 8 p.m. Call (805) 893-3535 or visit artsandlectures.sa.ucsb.edu.
