Three people – including a Santa Barbara police officer and his ridealong – were taken to the hospital after a collision involving a police cruiser at De la Guerra and De la Vina streets Wednesday evening.
According to Sgt. Mike McGrew, the woman, who is in her forties, was driving eastbound on De la Guerra and violated the right-of-way of the officer, who was driving south on the one-way street. The cruiser struck her red Ford Explorer. The officer “smacked his head pretty good,” McGrew said. The woman also had minor injuries from the collision, which happened at roughly 5:30 p.m.
