To better streamline its visual arts education programs, Brooks Institute announced 6/14 that it would soon begin a multiyear process of moving operations from its two Santa Barbara campuses down to an existing location in Ventura. The move to the Ventura campus — the former site of a movie studio that occupies eight acres — will help consolidate the school’s film, photography, visual journalism, and graphic design programs, officials said. Though the exact timing of the move has yet to be determined, it is not expected to occur before 2015. In the meantime, Brooks will make a number of improvements to its Cota Street site in Santa Barbara, including the addition of extra studio and library space.
