ShareBrands is a start-up geared at initiating social change. Through the sale of quality driven products (yoga mats, head phones, tote bags, dog collars, phone cases and tee shirts), and a 25% distribution of the sale price to partner non-profits, ShareBrands believes business can be used as a tool to connect people with positive social and economic change.
Based on the human need to contribute, ShareBrands was created to connect social and economic progression with commerce, conscious commerce. In an effort to change the way people buy products, ShareBrands embedded a value alignment system with individual purchases; buy a red product – 25% of the purchase price goes to poverty related cause, green – environmental; yellow – education; blue – men and children’s health; pink – women and children’s health.
Justin Hoffman and Connor Knutson, ShareBrands co-founders, joined forces at six years old, battling beastly opponents. At least it felt as such, they met playing mini-mite hockey in Arvada, Colorado. Nearly twenty years later, they have taken on a more profound challenge, shaping modern day consumerism. In an effort to create value driven community, ShareBrands was born.
Justin Hoffman spent the previous five years working as a Sales and Account Manager for a sales, marketing and distribution company based in Colorado. He quickly recognized business as a platform to make BIG things happen. Connor Knutson sought to follow in his late father’s footsteps with a career in the financial world. He spent the latter years of his college career and early business career in private equity. Years of family (teachers & pastors) instruction led him to question the conventions of modern business.
Justin and Connor will ride bikes from Denver to Los Angeles, through 12 cities, in an effort to engage business, people and non-profit solutions. The two will be followed by a promotional support car displaying ShareBrands non-profit and business partners. The two will make stops in Breckenridge, Vail, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Monterey and San Francisco to engage people and meet with local businesses.
Connor and Justin will be riding through Santa Barbara on October 7th, 2013.
