Fundraiser to End Alzheimer’s: Local Elders Join Forces with the Alzheimer’s Association to Fight Disease
The patients of The Californian: Santa Barbara Convalescent Hospital will be hosting a fundraiser sale next Saturday, September 21st from 8am-12pm. All proceeds collected from the sale will be donated to The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to END Alzheimer’s. This event is being organized by the patients of The Californian, who will be accepting all proceeds and donating them to this community event. Items to be sold (including, but not limited to: furniture, vases, purses, and clothes) were donated by The Californian and its staff, patients’ families, and friends. Everyone is welcome to come and support this important community event.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s unites the entire community — family, friends, co-workers, social and religious groups, and more — in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against this devastating disease.
The Walk will be held on October 5, 2013 at Earl Warren Showgrounds. The Californian will also be helping raise funds and awareness by participating in this event; employees will be coming together as team to join other supporters in the 5K walk to State St and back to the showgrounds.
