WillBridge Called to Action
After hearing the disheartening news that Casa Esperanza would no longer be able to provide lunches for the homeless the staff at WillBridge began brainstorming how to help. WillBridge of Santa Barbara will collaborate with the FoodBank to provide free lunches for the local homeless population. Lunches will be distributed on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Pershing Park, Alameda Park and in Isla Vista. This is a call to action during these challenging economic times to meet one of the most basic human needs. WillBridge staff feels strongly that each person in Santa Barbara should have at least one balanced meal a day.
Founded in 2003, WillBridge provides transitional, permanent supportive housing, medical respite and weekly street outreach to the hardest and most difficult-to-reach individuals in all of Santa Barbara—chronically homeless, mentally ill adults. WillBridge works to fulfill its mission to end suffering by providing safe-haven housing for this special population by offering long-term, supportive alternatives to living on the streets. Our goal is to empower individuals, assist them is reintegrating back into community living and support their efforts in rebuilding their lives.
