A Ventura-based drug dealer who was a major supplier in the City of Santa Barbara was arrested Wednesday after a two-week investigation. Santa Barbara narcotics officers made contact with Hernan Gutierrez, 32, during a traffic stop on West Haley Street at around 8:50 a.m. and found him in possession of two ounces of cocaine and one ounce of methamphetamine. During a search of Gutierrez’s home in Ventura, detectives found three pounds of cocaine, 1.3 pounds of methamphetamine, and $90,000 in cash. They also recovered a 9mm handgun and a kilo press, a device that compresses drugs into rectangular bricks approximately one kilogram in weight. Gutierrez was booked in County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
