1,200 School iPads Set for Distribution

Wed Feb 26, 2014 | 02:00pm

Approximately 1,200 iPads are currently being held in the Santa Barbara Unified School District offices and will be distributed to students participating in the one-to-one pilot program right after spring break. Between 4/1 and 4/11, 3rd-6th graders at Adams, Washington, and Franklin elementary schools and 11th graders at La Cuesta High School will pick up their iPad Airs with their parents after signing paperwork and watching a video. The district is fronting the nearly $700,000 bill but expects most families to participate in the lease-to-buy option for about $20 per month.
