A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 19-year-old UCSB student at a fraternity house on the 800 block of Fortuna Lane in Isla Vista. On Wednesday morning at 6:45 a.m., the victim reported the incident to Isla Vista Foot Patrol, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office. An investigation revealed Victor Farias, of Salinas, was the suspect.
Deputies arrested Farias at the frat house at about 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday and found photos on his cell phone that were related to the incident. Farias had reportedly been visiting a friend who was a member of the fraternity. He was already on probation in Santa Barbara County for burglary charges and is being held in County Jail without bail.
