Approximately 250 Planned Parenthood supporters gathered last Friday night at the DoubleTree Resort to fête the regional branch’s 50th anniversary and the upcoming retirement of president and CEO Cheryl Rollings, who has headed the area organization for the last 25 years. Rollings, who started her career with Planned Parenthood 36 years ago, announced her plans to retire this time last year, and her last day will be 11/20; candidates for her place are being interviewed. Her work has included helping establish the political arm of the tri-counties branch in 1991. Rollings — the organization’s Administration Building will be named after her — released a statement on her tenure: “I can’t imagine a more meaningful and fulfilling way to have spent my life.”
