I am a former resident, visiting. Once again, it seems like everyone I meet is glad to see me, was just waiting for me to show up. What is it about Santa Barbara that makes this happen? Aristotle said humans are “political” animals, i.e., fit to live in a polis. S.B. is just the right-sized polis! Take for example, how the Community Environmental Council works. People feel and convey it. Thanks for all the hospitality.
