Anticouni & Associates, a Santa Barbara-based employment law firm, announced Thursday it filed a class action lawsuit against three Vons stores in Santa Barbara County located on Linden Avenue in Carpinteria, State Street in Santa Barbara, and South Turnpike Road in Goleta.

The lawsuit — filed in Santa Barbara Superior Court on behalf of plaintiffs Kathryn Zeitz and Trevor White, both of Santa Barbara County, and approximately 500 past and present Vons employees — alleges Vons managers violated the California Labor Code many times over the course of four years by failing to pay overtime, requiring employees to work on their lunch breaks, and falsifying time sheets so it appeared employees took regular lunch breaks.

Plaintiffs are seeking four years of unpaid wages — estimated to be more than $4 million — attorney’s fees, and compensation for multiple alleged violations, including Vons’ failure to provide accurate wage statements and failure to keep proper payroll records.
