Hutton-Parker Reduces Two Funding Cycles to One
Letters of Inquiry by All 2016 Grant Applicants Due June 1
The generosity of Santa Barbara philanthropists and institutions is legendary, as the recent awards by Michael Towbes’s Montecito Bank & Trust of a total of $1 million to 184 nonprofits in S.B. and Ventura counties demonstrate. Community organizations count the Hutton-Parker Foundation among their unstinting donors, and the Foundation recently announced it would consolidate what was two funding cycles into just one.
Groups in all areas of interest are now asked to apply with a Letter of Inquiry before June 1, 2016, in order to qualify for a total of $1.5 million to be awarded in Core Support grants for 2016. These go to maintain the administrative functions that keep nonprofit organizations and agencies running healthily, as well as core programs and staff, increases in capacity, and financial strategies. The areas of interest are: Arts & Culture, Education, Health & Human Services, Children, Youth & Families, and Civic & Community.
The Hutton-Parker Foundation first opened its coffers in 1980 and has grown to an asset base of over $100 million. In its time, the Foundation has awarded more than $50 million to over 60 area nonprofits and agencies, supporting established, well-managed groups that serve specific populations effectively.
If invited to participate, all grant hopefuls for 2016 must submit full proposals by August 1. More information is available at www.huttonfoundation.org or by calling (805) 957-4740.
