Santa Barbara Airport has added Dallas/Fort Worth to the list of cities that can be reached on nonstop flights. Starting June 2, passengers can fly to the Texas metropolis via American Airlines, as they had been able to do 2004-2009 and 1983-1993. The flights are currently scheduled to leave around 2 p.m., arriving in Dallas at 7:30 p.m., and vice versa leaving Dallas around 10 a.m. and arriving at SBA around noon.

“The Dallas connection will have an increased economic impact for our region,” said Santa Barbara Airport Director Hazel Johns. “And in light of the major recession in 2008, when the majority of air service to regional airports like Santa Barbara decreased by 20 percent, we are glad to see things swinging back the other way.”

Flights to Texas are currently booking through January 2017. The other cities serviced directly out of Santa Barbara are Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
